BFFL?

Before proceeding, go back to the last post and respond to the question (Red Herring).

Though early in the book, this is promising to be a good read! After reading Chapters 3 & 4 we need to take a moment and think about what we know so far.
- What Characters have we been introduced to so far?
- Why is Sammy so afraid of Mrs. Graybill?
- Who is Lady Lana?

What important things have we learned so far?

In Chapter 4 Sammy meets 'Firehead'? What do you think? BFFL?

I would strongly disagree on Sam and fire head being best friends for life (DO NOT USE TEXT SLANG AGAIN.). If she gave Sam the evil eye, who knows what will happen next. I really hope she doesn’t talk about Sam living in the senior high-rise. If she does, there goes her reputation. But what else could she do… I think I’m gonna enjoy this.

Chapters 3 and 4 cleared up a few questions regarding Sammy’s stay at her Grandma’s. We now know that her mom has left her with her Grandma and that Sammy is not supposed to be living in the Senior Highrise. I assume this is because children are not allowed there. This explains why Sammy and her Grams are fearful of Mrs. Greybell, because she could report them. Of course the more important question of why her mom has taken off without her has yet to be cleared up. Sammy does not seem in any hurry for her to return.

Though they do not seem to share many physical characteristics, I immediately thought of Piper when we were introduced the Heather aka Firehead. I expect that they will play similar roles in the book.

I am left wondering:
- Where did Samantha see the man before? When will she remember?
- What role will Samantha and Marissa’s friendship play in the book? Marissa comes from a privileged home but I sense she looks up to Samantha.
- Marissa’s cousin Brandon has been mentioned a couple of times and Sammy seems to have a crush on him. How will he fit into the story?
- Is Mrs. Greybell going to make problems from Sammy and her Grams?

Many questions so early in the book – a good sign!

I like the idea of Sammy and Firehead becoming friends, although not at the expense of Marissa's friendship. Great conflict makes for great stories and they certainly do not get along at the moment!
