Time to get going. Lets read the first couple of chapters and see what is going on. It might be good (teacher highly recommends) that you read the first two chapters with a highlighter in hand or pencil and paper by your side. Character names and traits, new words, invented words (how do you tell the difference?) - make note of them and we will figure out how the blog can help us keep track of them.
We have talked about the difference between Fantasy and Science fiction. Which one is this book? Why?

Dad asked me to describe hoy i imagined Spaz as i read.
I imagine Spaz as a sort of normal kid. In my imagination, he is a 12 year old boy that wears a red t-shirt and a pair of shorts every day. He has un-combed short, blond hair. He wears blue tennis shoes, and is somewhat dirty.
He is the sort of a boy that follows along with a group, but can go against the group, like when he gave the little boy a half of a choxbar. He meant to bust down Wryter, only to leave empty handed, even though he had some things. The reason he left empty handed is because he was confused.
Interesting description though your closing sentances refers to things that we read in the short story preview. We do not know yet if that will happen at the end of Chapter 2. (There are a number of differences between the book and short story so far. Is it possible that something different will happen instead of him leaving without anything?)
Spaz....hmmm.. just his name gives me pause. In my day, also known as the backtimes, if someone was referred to as a "spaz" they were pretty much an uncoordinated fool, not well-liked and probably kind of irritating. This particular Spaz seems a little different. Right away when introducing himself he says that he is allergic to mindprobes because having a needle in his brain will set off a seizure followed by "total mind melt, lights out, that's all, folks."
If he has this medical condition that makes him different from every one else, why does Billy Bizmo watch out for him and protect him? I know that he steals and gives half to the gang, but is that the only reason Billy values him?
